Today we flew out of the tiny London City Airport on a small regional jet. Without knowing it we were bumped up to first class and had a great breakfast of eggs, ham and fruit. Lucky us!!!
We are in Malaga, a beautiful beach city in the southern part of Spain. This will be our home base and from here we will be exploring what is known as the Andalusia region of Spain. We are staying in a studio apartment so we have cooking facilities for those nights which we are too tired to go out. We did one of my favorite things today which is foreign grocery shopping. I just love looking at the produce, meat counters, cheeses and products that are so different from our american products . Everything was in Spanish, of course, so we used Google Translate on our phone to translate the package verbage to English. Wow very helpful. When we were in the south of France 3 years ago I stared at the butter thinking I really just want salted butter which one of these tubs do I choose. A british couple took pity on me and helped me choose the right product. For all my friends who are wine drinkers, the wine here is abundant, tasty and inexpensive. So all is good in the food and drink department.
Tomorrow we will be running around the Malaga area.
Happy Travels! Joni :)
