Cabot Trail

Cape Breton Highlands National Park is our current location.  It is situated at the very northernmost point of Nova Scotia covering 950 square kilometers and is one of the largest protected wilderness areas in the province.  The park is known for it's steep cliffs and deep river canyons that border the Atlantic  Ocean.  The Cabot Trail runs through one third of the park and is world famous scenic highway.

Today, July 8, 2015, we got up at dawn to go on a hike that is known to have moose.  I just had to see a moose!  We saw two, one on our hike and and one on the highway.  I have included pictures of the Cabot Trail as well as both moose.  Enjoy!

We are hoping to get in another 5 mile hike that has a nice skyline view.  It's pretty windy today and looks a little like it could rain so we will see if we get a chance to hike.

Happy Travels!  Joni :)
